THANKS IS A CORNERSTONE OF OUR PRAYERS
A key to effective prayer is simply being intimate with the Father telling Him what you are thankful for and what you enjoy.#Thanksgiving is also #worship. Giving thanks is one of the easiest ways to pray and worship – and it’s powerful.
THANKS GLORIFIES JESUS Thanksgiving is focused on Jesus; what He has done for us on the cross, who He has made us as children of God, and our union with Him. Eph 5:19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
THANKS FOR JESUS’ AND HIS GRACE & FAVOR God’s grace and #favor earned for us by Jesus, is the core of understanding of our thanksgiving for He has freely qualified us for blessing, intimacy and Kingdom power. It's easy to give thanks when you recognize that all our blessings are gifts from our loving Father. On the other hand, under the Law, people can often have a sense that they have earned God's blessings because of their obedience or good works and that they are entitled, this makes it difficult to enter into real heartfelt thanksgiving. 2Co 1:11 you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many. Col 1:12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the #saints in the #kingdom of light.
JOY AND THANKS BREAKS ANXIETY & FEAR #Negativity, #anxiety, #stress, #fear and #depression is a scheme of the Devil. It’s robbing many people of the joy, health and peace that Jesus’ grace qualified us for. Focusing daily, in prayer, on what is good and a blessing in our lives sets us free from this negativity. There is a direct link between being joyful and giving thanks. Try listing your blessing daily, you will be amazed. 1Th 5:16 Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. Php 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
THANKS FOR OUR BROTHERS & SISTERS We give thanks for our wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ, our family, friends and work mates - not just in a general sense, but specifically for all the good and excellent things about them. This breaks the inclination that negativity has of causing us to find fault and judge others. Let’s remember that we all fall short in someone’s eyes – so let’s forgive, love, be graceful and give thanks for people. It’s a privilege to have any relationship with another human being created in God’s image. 1Co 1:4 I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. 1Th 1:2 We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers.
VICTORY - SPIRITUAL WARFARE Giving thanks is a way of destroying Satan’s schemes and lies within our mind; negativity, resentment, fear, self pity and envy. We have victory in Christ, Satan was defeated by the Cross and by the grace of Jesus, he no longer has rights into our lives or power over us. 2Co 2:14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.
THANKS RELEASE MIRACLES Jesus did not pray long drawn out religious prayers. He simply gave thanks to the Father and the miraculous happened. These verses show how important and powerful a prayer of thanksgiving really is. Luk 9:16 Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to set before the people. Joh 6:23 Then some boats from Tiberias landed near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks. Joh 11:41 So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me." When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!"
SPEAKING IN TONGUES - IS THANKING GOD It is rarely taught, but speaking in tongues is one of the primary ways of personal thanksgiving and praise that comes from deep within our spirit. It's very personal and very intimate, that's why Paul says that it's actually not for others to hear but between you and God. (Don't misunderstand - speaking in tongues is wonderful and there is a time for it's public use as well.) 1Co 14:16 If you are praising God with your spirit, how can one who finds himself among those who do not understand say "Amen" to your thanksgiving, since he does not know what you are saying? You may be giving thanks well enough, but the other man is not edified.
GIVING THANKS LEADS TO COMMUNION IN THE NEW COVENANT Communion with each other and with God revolves around thankfulness for Jesus. Thanksgiving is a powerful act of faith that draws people together communally into Christ. 1Co 11:24 When Jesus had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.".....

My sense today is that our loving Abba Father, wants us to know that He loves us, warts and all.

GRACE GIVES YOU A DOUBLE BLESSING

John 1:16-17 From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
GRACE HAS A DOUBLE BLESSING FOR YOU Jesus grace is good news and its a free gift to all who want it. Living in grace, is believing that God is good and then choosing to live daily by the Spirit, in His love, intimacy, favor, blessing, forgiveness, provision, health, rest, joy, peace, empowering, abundant life...... etc, etc. It's a complete salvation (Greek=sozo) gift package earned for us by Jesus on the cross.
Our part is to decide if we want to live in this beautiful gift that our loving Father has given us or if we want to continue trusting in ourselves, our works, our religious rules and regulations - by our own effort and sweat.
Holy Spirit says "Come my beloved and enter into my rest, let me lead you into a quite place today, let go and let me." (Heb.4:10)(Ps.23:1). Thank you #Lord!
WHICH SYSTEM ARE YOU UNDER? Under the system of Law, Deut.30:19 state that you will receive Blessing + Curses. As its based on your imperfect performance and obedience. Under the system of Grace, John.1:16 states that we received Blessing + Blessing. There is no longer any curse because grace is based on Jesus' perfect performance and obedience. Not much of a choice, huh?
BLESSED TO BLESS For too long we have been trying to minister to others out of our poverty and own resources. Lets face it, when you are sick, depressed, fearful, penniless and have family problems you are consumed with getting your own life right - it's amazingly difficult to be intimate with God and to reach out to others in need. The good news is that God blesses us simply because we are His beloved children, but the wonderful spin off is that our blessings enable us and the Jesus' Spirit within us compels us to share these blessings.... a wonderful ripple effect upon society. God's way is simply good news all round.

GET RID OF THE LAW IN YOUR LIFE
If we are to live the blessed, healthy and joyful lives that we all desire and believe Jesus for, we need to firmly establish ourselves in the truth that the purpose of The Old Testament Law was actually to expose Israel's self #righteousness (Rom.9:31-10:3). (Likewise today the Law can convict the self-righteous (both the religious & the atheist) who think that they are "alright" without #Jesusgrace, that they fall short and need grace and salvation).
Gal 2:21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!"
We need to allow the Holy Spirit to renew our thinking. Despite what we grew up being taught, the Old Testament Law , including the Ten Commandments, IS NOT an external moral code for Christians to live by! (Shocking news to some!). It's purpose is to expose sin and self-righteousness and point to God's grace and #salvation.
As New Covenant believers in grace, we are lead by the #HolySpirit within us and He guides us and empowers us to live a Godly life (that naturally fulfills the Law and Ten Commandments), not the Law imposed from without. Sadly most of us still live in a mixture of Law and #grace and therefore experience both the #blessings and the #curses that come with the Law (Deut.28) - which is based on their performance or lack thereof. The Law is not good news people, it always finds fault and always demands 'just one more thing" of you. If you don't believe me simply read the book of Deuteronomy and see if you can do all that it demands, all the time.
The reason why we have to confront this Law issue in our lives is that for a consistently fruitful and blessed life, that glorifies Jesus, we have to get rid of Law living and get rid of the curse that comes through Law living (Gal.4:21-31). Dive completely into #Jesusgrace and receive blessing upon blessing daily (Jn.1:16-17). I don't know about you but I'm fed up receiving blessing that get robbed, healings that don't last and revivals that fade away. The explanation is the Law that is mixed in with our belief systems, causes our blessings to fade (see 2Cor.3 below).
Stay away from teachings that are a mixture of Law and grace ... why, because any ministry containing even a little bit of Law ultimately brings death, and death always manifests in sickness. It also makes us feel condemned (2Cor.3:16). Take a stand and stop allowing your #Jesusgift of grace to be contaminated by Law.
2Cor 3:6-9 He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, fading though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? If the ministry that condemns men is glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness!
Have courage, say no to teaching that makes you feel condemned, that point out you are not DOING enough, giving enough, not good enough, not holy enough, etc., no matter who's preaching and how many times grace and Jesus are mentioned - you will find that deep down it is actually Law based, i.e. you have to DO more to get more from God or to keep right with God. Judge all teachings by the fruit within you. Here's how you recognize the two types of teaching:- 1. The underlying message is: A "you must" focus that produces condemnation, guilt, performance and anxiety = The Old Testament Law 2. The under laying message is : A Jesus focus that produces joy, peace, freedom, rest = The Gospel of Jesus' Grace Discern carefully what you are hearing and get rid of Law teachings that focus on compliance to external rules and regulations imposed and administered by others. Focus on what the Holy Spirit is saying in your heart how to love, and then obey - be wise by the Spirit. You will then experience ongoing daily #JesusLife. Its #goodnews full of #gracelovetruth.
Heb 10:15-17 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says: "This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds." Then he adds: "Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more."
