For 25 years Heart to Heart International has walked alongside communities in KwaZulu-Natal shifting from relief to sustainable transformation through local leadership, discipleship, and presence.

From crisis response to lasting change

OUR JOURNEY

What began as urgent care during the HIV/AIDS pandemic, food parcels, school uniforms, homework clubs, and counselling for orphaned children and the gogos raising them, has grown into something far deeper. As our communities healed, we made a deliberate shift: from relief to development, from outside help to local ownership, from occasional outreach to permanent presence. Today we walk alongside local pastors every Wednesday, equipping them to lead from within their own neighbourhoods. We have stopped waiting for international missions to solve what the local church was always meant to carry. Heart to Heart International is now a growing network of church planting, discipling, healing, and building livelihoods, because we believe the church is not just a place people escape to heaven from. It is the solution, right here on earth.

Heart to Heart International operates as a ministry network under the Brethren Church in Africa, raising shepherds, planting churches, and restoring communities across KwaZulu-Natal.

Re-imagining the Church: Becoming the Solution in Our Communities

Our commitment to serving the local community is deeply embedded in the rhythm of our ministry. Every Wednesday, our local pastoral team gathers for dedicated sessions focused on mutual equipping and spiritual empowerment. The core message that drives these gatherings is profoundly simple, yet transformative: the Church must be the tangible solution to the challenges facing our communities. This conviction fuels our efforts to raise up local shepherds who are naturally connected to the people they serve.
